SPRING TRENDS THAT MAKE DRESSING UP FUN AGAIN

DENIZ AKKAYA

With the acceleration of the vaccination process around the world, our collective hope came to life in spring collections!

This year, the influence of 70s aesthetics has taken its place in our wardrobes in the form of vivid and colorful prints. While the crazy spirit of this period gives the message that these difficult times will pass, it also brought much needed colorfulness to our lives after more than a year we spent at our homes. We can assure you that in the 15 minutes you spend on the TikTok app, you’ll see Gen Z’s lively style and spring trends that make dressing up fun again.

Here are spring trends full of life!

Clashing Patterns

If you’re eager to embrace the chaos of matching different patterns, you’re in luck with this season’s collections. It is possible to see the psychedelic prints, which made a comeback with the influence of the 60s and 70s, in all forms from shirts to underwear. Combining these prints with floral or graphic prints may sound crazy. But isn’t that what we all need? A little bit of crazy…

Shoulder Pads

The popularity of padded garments made quite sense in last September Fashion Month, as it puts us at a distance from people. This silhouette also radiates power! If you don’t believe us listen to the wise words of Michael Scott, “These shoulder pads are really boss man, they’re really boss.” After a year of uncertainty in our homes, we are slowly starting to return to the streets of the city, and we are doing it with enormous shoulders!

Monochrome Sets

The biggest trend of the last few years, especially last year, must be monochrome sets. It is possible to find monochrome sets in almost all brands, and in all shapes and forms, from summer, winter pieces to not-so-casual sets.

Oversized Silhouettes

Tailoring takes its inspiration from men’s wardrobe as gender boundaries are constantly blurring. Pant suits appeared in AW22 collections, in comfortable and silk fabrics, and in oversized forms. Less structured silhouettes carry all the elements, from loungewear to custom craftsmanship, these days when consumers prefer convenience.
