SHAYNE OLIVER IS BACK TO FASHION!

DENIZ AKKAYA

As Hood By Air’s Shayne Oliver made his return to New York Fashion Week, he sat down for an interview with Cathy Horyn for The Cut. The designer remembered Virgil Abloh, described himself as “a show queen,” and discussed the “complicated” future of Hood By Air. Read the full interview here.

He first put his label Hood By Air—which he ran with a collective that included filmmaker Leila Weinraub and designer Raul Lopez—on hold in 2017, and said it would relaunch on a few occasions since then. There was a short-term partnership with Helmut Lang in 2017, an interview with Kanye West that teased a “rumored” combeack in early 2019, and then a highly structured new organization announced in the summer of 2020.

Shayne Oliver’s Anonymous Club presented a three-night live exhibition called Headlessness during New York Fashion Week at The Shed. The February event highlighted the core values of Anonymous Club, which was once conceived as just a series of parties that eventually grew into an artist collective. And on Friday, he debuted his new fashion line, Shane Oliver. Here’s the looks!
