THE C-LIST: BEAUTY SPACE FOR CANCER PATIENCE

The C-List is a platform that fills one of the biggest gaps in the beauty industry, created almost by chance during an Instagram live last summer.
If you have a relative who has been diagnosed with cancer, you know how difficult it is to find beauty products that cancer patients can conveniently use.
That’s exactly why the C-List is a platform dedicated to people living with cancer! The website was founded by cancer patient Lisa Potter Dixon and cancer activist Helen Addis, who also had the disease. So, beyond the effort to recognize the gap in the industry and make a profit, this is an initiative born out of the desire of people dealing with this difficult disease to help other people!
During Helen and make-up artist Lisa Potter-Dixon’s make-up class Instagram live for an hour, they noticed a gap in the industry. Helen said of how she and Lisa came up with the idea, “it started out as a list noted on a piece of paper. But the more we researched it, the more we realized, actually, there is more to it than this list.”
After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018, Helen had to change her entire beauty routine, from make-up to skincare. Helen, who had to use products without perfume and for sensitive skin, had more difficulty finding products that meet these criteria than she thought, so the foundations of “The C-List” were laid.
The website is full of product suggestions, no matter what you’re looking for! It is possible to find everything you can think of, from mascaras for sensitive eyes to shower products for sensitive skin. What’s more, besides a large product recommendation section, The C-List also provides women with cancer tips and tricks on both beauty products and their overall journey!
The website opens with the, “It’s hard enough to hear that you have cancer …with the addition of hair loss and the need to completely change your beauty routine, this diagnosis turns into a sponge of evil. Most of us want to feel and look as normal as possible, but it’s not easy to find delicate products that really work. That’s exactly why we created the C-list. If you are being treated for cancer, there is only one address to look at for each product you will use,” words of the two.
Each product takes its place on the site along with an affiliate link. Revenue from each product is used to surprise another C-List user every month!
