The first Monday in May has regained its iconic status back! Due to the pandemic, in 2021, fashion’s biggest night was moved to the second Monday in September…

Our favorite celebrities walked up to the infamous stairs of the MET, showing off their interpretations of this year’s theme: “In America: An Anthology of Fashion.” The night’s dress code calls for “gilded glamour,” a nod to the trends popular from the 1870s to the 1890s.

While fashion may be first and foremost for some, it’s the hair, makeup, and nails that bring the complete look home.  For the theme this year, we saw gold glamour, iridescent face and body gems, electric eyeshadows and so on.

Although the overall vibe of the gala was a bit underwhelming, we’ve listed some of our favorite celebs who understood the assignment!

Bella Hadid in Burberry
Jodie Turner Smith in Gucci
Evan Mock in custom HOS
Emma Chamberlain in Louis Vuitton
Kaia Gerber in Alexander Mcqueen
Maude Apatow in MiuMiu
Precious Lee in Altuzarra
Billie Eilish in Gucci
Gigi Hadid in Versace
Chloe Bailey in AREA
Paloma Elsesser in Coach
Blake Lively in Versace

Maybe a century late to the theme but we have to mention Ms. Kimberly Noel Kardashian’s look fort he night! Kim wore vintage Jean Louis gown that was infamously worn by Marilyn Monroe when she sang “Happy Birthday” to president JFK. It’s safe to say Ms. Kimberly ate it up!
