MAX MARA FALL 2021 ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION

The Max Mara Fall/Winter 2021 anniversary collection featured the self-taught, queen Max Mara woman, a recurring theme for the brand from the very beginning.

Ian Griffiths, the creative director who designed the brand’s 70th anniversary collection, bombarded us with nostalgia! The Queen – and also the rebellious look of late supermodel Stella Tennant, who walked several Max Mara shows during her career – influenced the countryside vibe of the collection, which feature a range of Aran sweaters, hunting jackets, quilted vests and equestrian capes.

Celebrating its 70th anniversary, the brand has decorated a room of the Milan Triennale design museum with heraldic flags, resembling Regent Street in London for the presentation of the collection. The show, which started with the celebration of the Maison’s signature color, was the faux coronation of the Max Mara queen, who received a camel coat instead of a crown! This detail further emphasized the British theme of the collection and symbolized the practical spirit of the company Achille Maramotti founded in 1951 to dress real women.
