FW21 BROUGHT US SOME FIERCE ACCESSORIES

2021 Fall/Winter fashion month has come and gone and brought a lot of new trends with it .

In this month, stretching from New York to Paris, brands have rediscovered ‘loungewear’, one of the very few perks of 2020, by showing both party-ready designs and casual silhouettes.

Although the pandemic forced us to stay at home and wear comfortable clothes, designers did not hesitate to include bold shoes and accessories in their autumn/winter 2021 collections. Brands from Prada to Versace sent models off to virtual runways with flashy shoes and new bags that inspired us to dress up, but without compromising on the comfort we relied on throughout the pandemic. From balaclavas that provide both a protection from the cold to acting as a mask to fluffy boots that will carry you from the sofa to the streets, we have listed the most fierce accessory trends of the FW21 collections!

Furry Shoes

Could this be the UGG effect? Uggs, which became a popular shoe option during the quarantine, seem to inspire designers for the FW21 collections. At Chanel, Virginie Viard designed voluminous boots with cream white and black curly faux fur; AMBUSH’s cloud-like furry shoes and Miu Miu’s knee-high Yeti boots dominated the vitrual shows throughout the month.

Bratz boots!

It is safe to say that the platform boots, which we have seen in every corner of Instagram, especially a few seasons ago, have taken over the FW21 season. Molly Goddard paired her signature tulle dress with metallic gold-coloured high platform boots. Simone Rocha added a romantic touch to the boots and decorated them with pearls. Bringing a unique interpretation to the Loafer trend, Jonathan Anderson teamed the wedge loafer with leather sock detail to create a hybrid style.

Silk Scarves

A simple accessory such as a silk scarf offers an endless styling options. From Versace and Dior, models wore headscarves printed with the Maisons’ monograms.

Gloves!

Gloves, which are expected to be one of the biggest style trends in autumn and winter, have become the superstar of many collections this season. From Marine Serre’s crescent moon print design to Jil Sander’s chic leather styles in pastel yellow and lilac, the gloves have added a subtle touch to some of our favourite FW21 looks. Further enhancing the accessory’s utilitarian feel, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons strategically placed small zippered pockets on their gloves.

Balaclavas

The removable hood to be worn under the chin was presented as a must for the coming winter. Whether knitted in sweet pastel tones and bold retro bright colors, whether at home or from a brand, the balaclava looks like the new hoodie. Each look in the Miu Miu collection was paired with a balaclava. Really smart choice when your show is filmed in the heart of Dolomites Alps!
